On the note of marathons, here’s an interesting marathon where The Speed Gamers play a video game for a consecutive number of hours in order to raise funds for charity. Most recently, the video game Final Fantasy was played for 168 consecutive hours by and raised over $50,000 for ACT Today!
ACT Today! is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide funding and support to families that cannot afford the treatments their autistic children need to achieve their full potential. Our goal is to introduce and help facilitate early and on-going treatment by providing the necessary resources (including referrals, funding and guidance) to individuals with autism and their families.
With an achievement like that, blogging for 24 consecutive hours starts to pale in comparison. It’s interesting to see how other non-profit organizations raise funds. For ourselves here at the Developmental Disabilities Association, you can easily help us raise funds by donating your unwanted goods (clothes and housewares) to us.
